 Guestbook

If anyone hears Irish Dance he or she immediately thinks of shows like „Lord of the Dance“ or „Riverdance“ which popularized the Irish Dance worldwide. The style shown there has been specially created for such dance shows. Certainly traditional influences are also seen. Typical posture and specific arm movements in couple dances are evidence of the traditional style.

In 2006 our association has grown from a quartet. We wanted to pay more attention to the traditional style, use different forms to revive the dances. Traditional ID mixed with ballet and show dance. This truly successful blend of vivacity, elegance and firework of the feet has become a hallmark of “Celtic Minds”. Audience and dancers are excited by so much variation.

The choreographies are written by Mandy and Manu. Inspired by traditional dances and ID shows new dance numbers emerge  constantly. For several years a professional dancer gives advice to us. Her experience and our strong intention brought us forward and our first own show will be performed on stage.

The costumes (see picture left) – from design to finished garment - are made by members of our show class.

At the moment the association counts in 19 members, divided in show class "Celtic Minds" (12 dancers) and leisure class (7 dancers).
